Three Times The Charm?
Sometimes you just have to try, try, try again.
An Open Door Between Here And There
This space - Haus Reverie - has been my home base for a while now. It’s a safe place where I can stretch out, create anything my mind is set on, regardless of who might be interested. It’s where I can let things unfold without rushing.
But homes have more than one room.
On Medium, my writing takes on a slightly different posture. It’s still me over there, but it won’t all be fiction stories. Medium is where I show up more frequently in the hopes of taking advantage of the Partner Program one day.
I wanted to write this post as sort of an open door. If you’re here, and you like what you’ve read so far, there’s a good chance you’ll find something you like there too.
Why I’m Writing In More Than One Place
For a while, I felt like choosing one platform was the way to go. Focus on one place, elevate it, and then expand. But writing doesn’t work like that. It shifts, depending on where it’s placed, who’s reading, and what season of life it’s born into.
Haus Reverie is intentional. Curated for the best fiction stories. It’s where I let myself breathe. Medium, on the other hand, is like a meeting room; writers pull up chairs at a long table and pass notes, disagree gently, and recognize each other in passing lines. Publishing there has reminded me that writing doesn’t have to be so delicate.
What You’ll Find on My Medium Page
This is where I’ll post more non-fiction pieces. Creative, sure, but not the type of reading to get lost in. Writing about work and exhaustion; about creativity and captitalism; nostalgia and reality. I write about being tired - but not defeated. I’m writing about building something while still needing rest.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned as a writer is that consistency isn’t about volume - it’s about presence. You don’t have to publish every day, but you do have to return. And Medium’s Partner Program incentive has motivated me to return to the platform.
Posting on Medium regularly has sharpened my voice and taught me how to not fall into the black hole of “I could totally improve this before publishing”. I can test ideas before they grow into something larger. Some of those ideas might migrate back here, fuller and more sure of themselves.
How This Supports Haus Reverie
I’m not trying to split attention - I actually want to avoid that problem - but Medium has a bigger readership, which means more reach. If you follow me on Medium, you’re helping me continue to write thoughtfully, consistently, and honestly across spaces.
And if you’re a writer yourself - it’s a great place where connection happens naturally. Through comments. Through publications. Through the jolt of recognition when someone puts words to a feeling you didn’t know how to name.
Listen, this isn’t an obligation to follow, but instead, an invitation. If you’re interested in writing that pays attention to the quiet, the overlooked - then I think you’ll enjoy the pieces on Medium. You can follow me there to see new work as it’s published, join the conversation in the comments, or simply read along quietly. All are valid ways of being a reader.
Keeping The Doors Open
Haus Reverie will continue to be a place for my slower work. That isn’t changing. Medium is just another way to stay in motion as a writer - another room in the Haus with the lights on. Think of it as the guest room down the hall from the master bedroom.
If you decide to step into that space with me, I’d love to have you there. If you’re content to linger here, reading at a slower pace, that’s welcome too. Writing, like home, is built through presence - not pressure.
Either way, thank you for being here. Truly.
I’ll leave the door open.
There’s more waiting on Medium,
if you’d like to wander over and read a while.
